January, 2013 - The Buying of Land
It all started with Kez scouring through the many online real estate websites. She came across an estate called Coburg Hill (9km north of the CBD).
So Viv and Kez decided to visit Coburg Hill on the 5th January, 2013. After one afternoon of discussing the options available on the 2nd release of land, the decision was made! We were going to buy land in Coburg.
A few more trips to the estate and voila, we have a little narrow plot in Coburg!
January 26, 2013 - Australia Day Purchase!
So after a few weeks of hunting around for a builder to build on our skinny (9m) plot, we finally decided to go with one of the big project builders (Metricon). For the first two weeks, Kez and I were convinced that we wanted a single-storey house with no stairs and a small-ish mortgage.
After reconsidering the potential of our plot one Saturday morning, we decided to consider the double storey options. I admit I was quite excited at the thought of building a double-storey. Better use of space was the big plus, the much larger mortgage...not so great.
Long story short, we ended up deciding on the Breeze 25 design with the Vogue facade.
So now the fun starts...

This is a floor plan of what the Breeze 25 design. We've decided not to make any structural changes to the standard design (except for widening the portico to suit our 9m plot). Most of the upgrades will be in the finishings (sure to cost a lot of $$$).
