We finally got a look inside today after weeks of peeking through the windows. It can be hard to get our SS on the phone so we went in the morning hoping to either spot him about or for the place to be open. We have found that the tradies don't mind if you ask to enter politely and keep out of their way while they work. The tiling to wet areas has been completed and a coat of paint has been added to the garage walls. Take a look at the pictures below, try and spot us in the tile reflections! Kez
Hi,
The tiles look very nice. Can I ask what type they are - ceramic or Porcelain? And did metricon charge an arm and a leg for those tiles?

Hi Sandra,
Thanks for your message, the tiles are ceramic and they are an upgrade (though not too hideous). The wall tiles are 'bliss latte' and the floor tiles 'sintes swirl grey gloss'. All up for our bathrooms/laundry areas cost us $1200 (on top of the Metricon standard)

Thanks for the info Kerren, so glad it's not an outrageous price.
We are still waiting for our studio M tour and colour appointment. Such a long way before we get to your stage.

No problem Sandra. It felt like an eternity ago when we were picking out our colours and fittings, and now we finally get to see them being installed! Whereabouts are you building?

We are building in Coburg Hill too, on Aperture Street, although our land is not titled yet, so it's a waiting game until the end of May. How did you guys manage to stay so patient? We go to our land almost every week and one slight shift in the dirt mound is already exciting news for us. :)
Sad but we are already picking out furniture and electrical appliances for the house lol

Haha we did exactly the same thing! For at least 5 months we would do a weekly visit on an empty plot of land! We have also been slowly collecting bits and pieces for the new house.
Good luck with your build Sandra! It's a painfully slow experience but it will be worth it in the end.

Hi Sandra
Are you guys building with Metricon as well? It seems like everyone in Coburg hill is building with either Metricon or Boutique?
I wonder if anyone has used any other builders? If so, what were their experiences?

Hi Sandy,
We are building with Metricon as well because we like their design and it fits on our block. We were considering other builders like Burbank and Simmonds, but changed our mind because of the design.
All builders have their good and bad i guess

Thanks Simone. The silver edging is just a standard edging that the Reece Plumbing guys offered. I don't recall if there were many other options available. It's also the same edging we have in the bathroom (near the bath tub).
