Kez and I have been eagerly awaiting site start these last few weeks. We finally received the building permit on 30th June and got our asset protection permit sorted out.
Since then, there has been a bit more waiting whilst the people at the big 'M' started ordering the components required for the build.
We also had to re-sign some variations that were missed in the initial contract, and discovered that we needed an extra retaining wall to ensure the structural integrity of the little concrete pad at the back of the house (for the future jacuzzi). Engineered retaining = more money :/
Meanwhile, our neighbours on either side seem to be making good progress on their builds.
We did also go to Herald Sun Home Show on the weekend to get some tips and ideas on a few things. I was a particular fan of an outdoor shade system that had electronically controlled shades that could tilt up to 180 degrees. Would be a nice thing to have installed on top of the jacuzzi I think. I also like the idea of a vertical herb garden which could look something like this.

Anyway, our CSC has advised that construction on the site is due to start this Friday! Fingers crossed I have a slightly more exciting photo of the build to show in my next post!
